Effective Personal Marketing
“If it’s to be, it’s up to me”
A common quality among ‘superior’ men and women is that they are self-made and self-reliant. They accept responsibility for themselves, the decisions they make and everything that happens to them. They see themselves as their own source of success, and as the main cause of their problems and difficulties. They refuse to make excuses or to blame others, instead looking for ways to overcome any obstacles they face and move on.
To achieve everything you are capable of as a person, you must become a skilled strategic planner. Your aim should be to increase the return on your energy. Putting this into practice means looking at yourself strategically, thinking about how you can better yourself in the marketplace, capitalising on your strengths and abilities.
Your most valuable financial asset is your ability to earn money. Many factors contribute to this ability – knowledge, education, skills and experience. Like a plot of land, this ability must be cultivated and fertilised, otherwise it will lose the ability to produce the harvest you desire.
It is vital to maintain awareness of the importance of this fact, and to work daily to keep your ability growing and current with the demands of the marketplace. To develop and maintain a marketable skill (for which there is a strong demand), and give yourself a ‘competitive advantage’, or a skill that gives you a distinct advantage over your competition.
